En skola i Missisippi har ställt in sin skolbal. Den 18 årige eleven, Constance McMillen blev tillsagd från skolan att hon inte fick lov att gå på balen i smoking, tillsammans med hennes flickvän. Och om hon och hennes flickvän skulle dansa tillsammans på balen, så skulle de bli utslängda.
När hon ifrågasatte detta genom ”The American Civil Liberties Union” (ACLU), bestämde sig skolan för att ställa in balen.

”Oh, my God. That’s really messed up because the message they are sending is that if they have to let gay people go to prom that they are not going to have one.
A bunch of kids at school are really going to hate me for this.”
